I Made You a Curtain That You’ll Never See, 2020

The work imitates graveyards from different parts of Georgia. It shows how the living project the sacred meaning to the grave of their loved ones and how every minor detail of decoration is important to them, the subtle caring humans demonstrate while taking care of the burial sites of the loved ones.
Anastasia Akhvlediani (born in 1996) lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 2014-2018 she was enrolled at the Free University, Faculty of Visual Arts, Architecture and Design (VA[A]DS), track of fine arts (workshop of Thea Gvetadze and Levan Mindiashvili). She participated in numerous group exhibitions and residencies. Among them: Tbilisi Online Biennial (2020), Nariman (2019), Obscura Workshops (2018), Abandoned Soviet School Building (2018), Us and Them (2017, Parallel Vienna), residency of Slavs and Tatars (2019, Berlin), multidisciplinary residency of Jiwar Barcelona, Spain.
