Ana Tabatadze

Closer than Poetry

One more thing that unites us is archetypes – our ability to recognize them, their subconscious manifestations in our dreams and fantasies. This coded language that we all share against our will is the subject of Ana Tabatadze’s artistic research.

Archetypes, along with shapes, are made of energy, and managing, recreating and artistically interpreting them requires intellectual, physical and sexual efforts, the whole process resembling a ritualistic cycle.

The space also works as a ritualistic loop – the multimedia installation is a collection of ancient symbols and mediums existing beyond our time. Interacting with them helps us identify the real fragments of our past, present or future lives that we now deem as mere fantasy.
